Delcam is the UK's leading developer and supplier of CADCAM software, with more than 20,000 customers in over 60 countries. We have grown successfully over the last 25 years and now have over 750 staff, of which just over half are based at our headquarters in Birmingham. We employ the largest and most experienced CADCAM development and support team in the UK and so are able to offer the highest level of support to our customers. One of the reasons for this success is the fact that Delcam is the only international CADCAM vendor to have an in-house toolroom. This facility has recently been expanded and re-equipped to allow even more comprehensive testing of our software before it is supplied to our customers.

In the late 1980’s Delcam identified a common requirement during product design for the quick and efficient creation of manufacturable 3D models from 2D images & artwork. Consequently, in 1991 the first version of ArtCAM was released allowing product logos and artistic flourishes to be added to precision engineering components. Over the years however it became clear that ArtCAM also provides a unique solution for artists and designers to produce intricate manufacturable models without the need for conventional technical or engineering skills.

Now with more than 15 years of development, ArtCAM seamlessly spans the gap between artisans and engineers, carefully combining the strengths of both approaches to form a uniquely powerful 3D modeller, but with all the simplicity of a paint package. Drawing on the expertise and technology of Delcam’s world-leading manufacturing software, PowerMILL, ArtCAM also provides a fully-integrated CNC or Rapid Prototype manufacturing solution.

Rapid Prototyping

With growing demand for Rapid Prototyping; Delcam has recently invested in the latest BluEdge laser technology enabling a mixture of wax and resin jewellery models to be built in layers ready for casting. The models created are free from porosity, robust and smooth enough for mould making. The Delcam bureau service rp.delcam.com will build any 3D jewellery model within 48 hours (working week) and dispatch direct to any destination.

Delcam has recently released PowerSHAPE-e a free 3D surface and solid modeller that can be downloaded from www.delcam.com. This software is free for anyone to try and without limitation.
